The Power of Partnership

At ALIANDO, we believe the strongest Microsoft partnerships bring together technology, expertise, and a shared commitment to customer success. Few areas demonstrate that collaboration more clearly today than Cloud and AI.

In this conversation, we sit down with Donald Rossberg, Cloud & AI Specialist at Microsoft, to explore his journey in the Microsoft ecosystem, his perspective on the rapidly evolving Cloud and AI landscape, and the role partners can play in helping organizations turn emerging technologies into meaningful business outcomes.

From navigating AI adoption to building strong customer and partner relationships, Donald shares his perspective on what it takes to move from innovation and experimentation to real-world impact.

Donald Rossberg on Microsoft, Partners and Customer Success

1. How has your journey with Microsoft shaped the way you approach Cloud and AI conversations with customers today?

Cloud and AI conversations are most effective when they focus on outcomes, not just technology. A strong understanding of both business needs and technical capabilities helps bridge the gap between strategy and implementation, ensuring customers can identify the right combination of solutions to address their unique challenges and drive measurable value.

2. Which Microsoft value resonates most with your professional philosophy, and why?

Microsoft’s growth mindset really resonates with me. I believe the best ideas come from staying curious, learning continuously, and staying open to new perspectives. In a fast-changing industry, that mindset helps me keep growing and deliver greater value to customers.

3. As AI moves to the forefront, what has changed most in customer conversations?

The biggest shift is that customers are no longer focused on improving existing processes, but on reimagining them. AI is driving more fundamental transformation, challenging assumptions and creating new ways to work, innovate, and deliver value.

4. Many organizations are exploring AI, but what separates a promising experiment from an initiative that delivers lasting business value?

The most successful AI projects aren’t focused on the technology itself; they’re focused on the business challenge. When organizations use AI to rethink processes and create new opportunities, that’s when the real transformation happens.

5. How important is having the right cloud, data, security, and governance foundation for AI success, and where can partners make the biggest difference?

A strong foundation is critical. AI is only as effective as the data, security, and governance behind it. The best partners help customers build that foundation early, ensuring AI projects are secure, scalable, and ready to deliver real business value.

6. As Cloud and AI continue to evolve, how do you see the role of Microsoft partners changing, and what will set the best partners apart?

Today, great partners do much more than provide technology; they help customers turn it into real business outcomes. The most valuable partners bring deep cloud and AI expertise and work closely with Microsoft and customers to drive successful adoption and lasting impact.

7. From your perspective, what can partners do to collaborate more effectively with Microsoft’s field teams on Cloud and AI opportunities?

The best partnerships start with early collaboration. When partners engage Microsoft early and stay connected, they can unlock additional expertise, resources, and support to help customers achieve better outcomes.

8. How can partners better connect Cloud and AI technologies to the business outcomes that matter most to customers?

The key is bringing both business and technical perspectives to the conversation. Having the right people in the room helps connect technology decisions to business priorities, building confidence and keeping momentum moving forward.

9. Looking back, is there a customer or partner collaboration that stands out, and what made it successful?

One example that stands out is when a customer, partner, and Microsoft team worked closely together from the start. That early collaboration built trust, brought together the right expertise, and helped deliver successful AI outcomes. It showed the power of everyone working toward the same goal: customer success.

10. When you look ahead, what excites you most about Cloud and AI, and what advice would you give organizations and partners preparing for the future?

I’m most excited about how AI can accelerate innovation and help organizations modernize faster. My advice is simple: focus on building a strong foundation and reducing technical debt. The partners that stand out will be the ones that use AI to simplify modernization and help customers unlock new opportunities.

Summing Up

As Donald shared, successful AI adoption is built on more than technology. It requires strong foundations, a growth mindset, and close collaboration between customers, partners, and Microsoft. The organizations that focus on real business outcomes will be best positioned to unlock AI’s full potential.
